Happy Birthday, Sarah!

This gallery contains 1 photo.

She’s still sparkling as ever! The light inside her, the glow that comes from her soul continues to shine on everyone around her. I’ve been and will always be thankful for her… that even when we are miles apart, we’re … Continue reading

Malaysia: Johor Bahru Express

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

It’s long weekend here in Singapore in celebration of Chinese New Year. Hooray!

It’s the time of the year where local families do their spring cleaning, reunions and dinner gatherings. Since it’s a major holiday, almost every place is close for a break.

Davao: You Spin my Head Right Round, Right Round

According to Wikipedia, Zorbing is the recreation of rolling downhill in an orb, generally made of transparent plastic. Zorb is one ball inside another with an air-layer between that acts as the shock absorber. Inside, there are harnesses to hold two (2) riders in place.

I once saw this activity in Sports Unlimited, a local show in the Philippines about sports and physical recreations. They featured the one in Boracay so I told myself that I’d definitely try it out when I go there.

Good thing, while I was doing research for our itinerary, I saw that Davao has their version of Zorbing, too. So I immediately listed it down in the Must-Trys. Yes! ;)

I was really excited to try this because for (1), it’s included in my bucket list and (2), it seems fun to be rolling down the hill, face-to-face with your partner, and seeing each other’s expressions. It’s going to be HILARIOUS for sure. And I was right!

Davao: White Water Rafting – Part 2

White Water Rafting is an extreme outdoor activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river. This sport is usually done on white water or different levels of white water to add thrill and excitement to raft passengers.

Read Part 1 of this post for more information about Davao’s WWR.

Davao: White Water Rafting – Part 1

Since I was in-charged with the itinerary, I planned that we’ll have first all the extreme physical activities while we still have the energy. So our second day in Davao started with a wild White Water Rafting. :)

Before the trip, we already made reservation of Davao’s WWR on our preferred date. Thankfully, two other groups joined us the same date (the more, the many-er) — 1 traveling couple, and 1 foreigner pilot who we also call Santa. Ho ho ho! ;)

Davao City: The Tour

Steel artwork that shows the best elements of Davao City

Steel artwork that shows the best elements of Davao City

We arrived in Davao in the morning, early enough so we could find a place to stay-in and wander around tourist spots near the city. I appreciate that tourism there is quite organized. In Davao Airport, there’s already a kiosk or Visitor Information Center designed to provide tourism related information to visitors including tourist destinations, getting around the city and tour guides.

We hired a van, with a driver of course, who also became our tour guide. He’s a credited guide of Davao tourism so his rates are standard. It’s convenient and safe that way since we have big luggage with us. He was also the one who suggested us the cheap apartment we resided in there. I highly recommend him as he’s very patient and accommodating. And he really knows where to take us. :)

Driver/Tour Guide: Kuya Joseph
Rate: Php 2,000 per van (I think the van is good for 8-10 persons. We’re only 6 (300++ each) so you could save more if you’re in a bigger group.)

My Journey to Financial Freedom

“Income does not equal Wealth. It’s not how much you earn that makes you wealthy. It is how much you invest from what you earn that makes you wealthy.” – financialplanningph

For a change, this would be my first time to share something about finances. Hee!

I am not planning to be the next Henry Sy, or Bill Gates, or even come close to Kris Aquino’s wealth (although, that’s not a bad idea :P ). I just wanted to secure a future where my family wouldn’t need to worry about financial limitations. We all know that financial security doesn’t happen overnight, right?

I’m very thankful that I was blessed with people who opened my mind to create money and wealth without being greedy or materialistic. And I want to encourage and bless other people too. :)

Singapore Christmas Village

Just a few days after Christmas last year, we went to Singapore Flyer where it launched the first ever Christmas Village in Singapore that used 2 million bright, energy-saving LED lights to decorate Santa’s Wonderland! It’s great that we visited the place in the evening.

During off-peak hours, the entrance ticket only costs S$6 for adults and S$4 for children but after 6:30 PM, the price doubles and become S$12 for adults and $8 for children. Good thing, we bought our tickets from Groupon which aside from the Christmas Village admission, there’s 6D rides, food coupons and other vouchers as well. :)
